I think a lot of people have a hard time seeing the value in their own lives or in the lives of others. It’s easy to think, “Well if you want to be a good person, you have to be nice to people.” I have to hand it to you, that’s a pretty big leap in logic. But when we’re feeling good that’s what we do.

When you’re feeling good about the people around you, that makes you feel good about yourself. To paraphrase a friend of mine: If you are happy, someone else is happy and you feel good about yourself, then you don’t have to be nice to everyone.

I’ve noticed this with the people I’ve been with. I think it comes from when we were younger, we saw all the friends we had and we thought, I wish I could be like them. It was such a selfish thought. To see the people around you and to feel good about yourself is such a large part of the human experience that it just makes sense to be nice.

It’s a good thing to remember, because it can be hard to remember all the things that you have to do to keep your life going. This is something I’ve come to realize as the years go on. I mean, I’m probably going to get arrested for giving a lecture in a public hall and I’m not really sure how I’m going to do it.

I think part of the reason we find ourselves so drawn to the things we do is because it’s also hard to recall all the things we have to do to keep our lives going. My brother is the same way. He hates the way he had to work a job for a couple of years before he could start his own business. It’s frustrating not to know how to do something.

It’s the same with a lot of things. If you have to do something for a living, then you have to keep doing it. If you have to do something for a living, then you have to keep doing it every day. If you have to do something for a living, then you have to keep doing it every moment. If you have to do something for a living, then you have to keep doing it until you get tired of it.

The same is true with software development. Some companies, like a lot of startups, start out with the idea that they can do it all. And then the first thing they do is add more and more features until they can do it all. Then they get distracted, because they can’t focus on what they’re doing. Even so, they keep adding features and adding features and adding features, and before you know it, the company is in the middle of a huge growth spurt.

The problem with this approach is that it causes a number of problems. First, as we just saw in the last few days, it makes it difficult for the team to focus on the important things, like making a killer app. Second, it makes work harder, because the team is constantly distracted by new features and new bugs. After a while, it becomes difficult to keep all of the important tasks going.

If you’ve been lucky enough to work in a growth-oriented company, you might be familiar with this problem. It’s called arrested development, and in a growth-driven company it is difficult to stay interested in the things that are truly important to a company. But growth-driven companies are not all just growth-driven companies. There are several companies that are growing at a really fast pace while being incredibly successful.

It’s hard to say if this is a meme or not. But I am pretty sure that arrested development memes are everywhere. It might just be the reason we find ourselves obsessing over how we should be progressing.
