We had a quick camping trip along the Chesapeake Bay before heading up to Ohio to see family. We stayed on Assateague Island right on the beach and woke up during the night to wild horses right outside our tent. I love the simplicity of camping, where simple things like cooking dinner and drinking morning coffee is an adventure. It always reminds me that all I really need is the Lord and Trevor and maybe a good strong cup of coffee, and the rest are details.
I got to take Trevor to the tiny Maryland town I grew up in, which is mostly unchanged from when I left it twelve years ago. I was fifteen years old when we moved to North Carolina, and I knew with a strange certainty (or maybe just a wistful teenage hope) that I would meet my future husband there, right at the high school I would move to. And it was a little surreal to walk around those streets with the very man I hoped to find.
