Jeff and Alta got married on a little farm on a chilly but sunny February afternoon. It was sweet, simple, and filled with so much love and joy. I first spoke with Jeff over the phone; they wanted a short engagement and would be married in only a few weeks; they knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and saw no reason to wait, and I loved that. When you know, you know. He told me about his beautiful bride-to-be Alta, how they had know each other years ago and had recently reconnected, this time as totally different people who had recently began their own journeys of following the Lord and being radically changed by His love. When I met them for coffee later, I couldn't help but notice that they talked just as much about their love for the Lord as their love for each other, both exuding so much joy my cheeks hurt from grinning so much. As Alta told me about the other love of her life, her daughter Layla, Jeff said, "The best thing is that I'm not just becoming a husband, I'm becoming a dad, too." This couple is the real deal, full of so much selfless love and zeal for life. I feel like a better person just for having met them. And their wedding day reflected every bit of that.
