We visited Amelie's French Bakery during our trip home to see our families. A small pocket of time for just the two of us.
This was where we could come as newlyweds years ago, a thirty minute drive just for the macarons, to spend time in the city and let it inspire us. We talked about dreams and purpose and culture, the future seeming so close and at the same time as distant as a constellation, tiny sparks of light and hope clustered together to somehow form a permanent picture in the sky.
And somehow our biggest dreams have already come true, those very things we talked about hypothetically. Somehow, seemingly all of a sudden, we are both doing the things we always dreamed we would do - making art and learning how to glorify God with our lives.
We added some new dreams this time, sprinkled across the table like the flakes from our croissants. It seemed like a safe place to whisper new dreams to the universe.
