Our family is made up up thinkers...we're free spirits who like communities that are different. We like the freedom to move around and experience the world without being tied down to traditions. We like things that are ridiculous, bordering on irreverent...and we like nachos. We like to laugh, be creative, and we like the unusual and quirky.
I met Dawn and Jeremy, ironically, when I was assigned to take photos of them and their ministry for a church project (I learned how to use a DSLR a couple of years ago by volunteering to be our unofficial church photographer. Those early photos were...special.)
Dawn and Jeremy lead a Skate Church ministry where, every Friday night, a huge group of teenagers from the area come to our sanctuary-turned-indoor-skate-park to skateboard and learn a little about Jesus. It's the coolest thing ever, and Trevor and I admire this couple so much for their creativity, ingenuity, and heart for sharing the Gospel on these teenagers' level.
So, of course, I was thrilled to be able to capture this family in their gorgeous, crafty home. It was filled with light and homemade art and color and so, so much love. Thank you Johnson family for allowing me into your home for the afternoon!
